Christmas 2020

We are still at about 20,000 LEDs this year!

Major elements:
Multi-color LED Strings (~20,000 LEDs): The majority are wide-angle LEDs. There are also some sections with pointed LEDs (the pine tree) and dome LEDs (the back yard).

Campfire: Returning for 2020 with additional friends is the campfire! Under our large pine tree you can find five little inflatables (Hello Kitty, Chipmunk, Husky, Kitten, and Unicorn) keeping warm at a small pile of "coals" (something I have been using for Halloween for years).

Tree Farm: The tree farm remained at the corner of the property this year. It has 8 small Christmas trees using tomato cages wrapped in garland and rope lights. We then added some inflatables to the mix and put it behind our big archway with a wreath at the top. The path through leads to Santa reading and the Tree Farm Truck is off to the side.

NOEL: DIY project consisting of 1/2" PVC letters that are positioned on our trellis. Each letter is 5ft tall and 3ft wide and is internally lit by a strip of RGB LED lights. They are all set to fade and slowly change colors which turns out to be pretty decent looking, but they could be set to do other things.

Inflatables: This year saw a some additions to the inflatables list already. We are up to 19 inflatables this year. In all there are:
  • Santa in a Camper
  • (Affectionately known as the "chucking Santa").
  • Gingerbread House
  • Penguins Mailing Letters
  • Tree Farm Truck
  • Santa Reading to Reindeer
  • Hot Cocoa
  • Polar Bears Sledding
  • Hello Kitty
  • Chipmunk
  • Polar Bear Standing
  • Elves and Santa Climbing a Ladder
  • 4 Christmas Trees
  • Dogs Holding a Candy Cane
  • Husky Sitting
  • Unicorn
  • Kitten

Really Big Lights: The RBLs have gotten a more stable home at the porch now. For more information on them, check out their project page from 2017.
